Shipping News: The Problem With Upgrading the Relationship

Hi guys, it’s been a while because Teen Wolf has taken over my life (okay there’s other stuff too but you’re not interested in that so it’s not worth mentioning). Anyway we’ve had most of the season finals – which is always a turbulent time for shippers – and it’s almost time for Summer TV: when everything is just so much simpler (or so we thought damn you Teen Wolf). And while we’re on a topic of finals, let’s talk about whether or not we really want our OTP to actually get together.

Welcome Shippers, it has been a big week for some of us (and it’s about to get bigger for the Teen Wolf fandom). Glee fans could certainly do with a break after last weeks sexathon. EOnline has announced its Top TV Couple. There’s some Original sex to look forward too on The Vampire Diaries and a new shipping column on the block.

Seriously though, I’m a bit out of the loop of all things fandom due to lack of Internet but I’ve done my best to catch up on all the new television and spoilers. So let’s see how I do then shall we. 10 Ships that ruled 2012

These are not my favorite ships (although some of my favs did make the list), these are the ships that I think have had the most impact this year. These ships either have super active fandoms, win all the polls, are the most talked or simply have the most potential. That said, I’m not an impartial observer and I don’t pretend to be – this list comes from my own observations and it’s the best that I can come up with when I have a killer hangover.

Shipping News: Once Upon a Femslash Dream

It’s that time again lovely readers, where we turn from the path of sanity and delve into the depths of all things shipping… and if you think I sound a tad over-dramatic you’re obviously not a shipper. This week more magical lesbians on Once Upon a Time, Battleships to their stations at Hypable and Teen Wolf does NYCC. Also TV Guide tells you which couples should have sex, Elena sticks by her choice (The Vampire Diaries) and the Faberry/Sterek battle continues.

Shipping News: Mostly break ups, also magical lesbians (sort of).

Downton Abbey, Doctor Who and Glee are all about breaking up. Once Upon a Time makes me ship all the femslash. AfterElton let’s me and 4 other so-called slash experts loose and Sterek fans are still fighting hard (and even winning sometimes).

My Top Ten Slash Ships

You might remember that in the last Shipping News, I talked about the fact that AfterElton is currently holding the Ultimate Slash Madness Tournament - in which 32 of our favourite slash couples are battling it out for the title of Ultimate Slash Champion. Now it’s pretty easy to guess that I am a tad excited about this poll, I mean I love me some slash and I can never say no to good poll but I have discovered recently that I might be in minority in this (at least outside fandom circles). So in order to drum up some excitement from my family and friends I have compiled a list of my top 10 slash ships (not all of them are in the poll but I still love them so they are here).
